About BEYOND TOOLS
BEYOND TOOLS began trading 1st May 2008 and is a natural evolution of FOR WOOD TOOLS AND MACHINERY SALES. In October 1986 Tony and Carmel Mirabile founded For Wood Tools and Machinery Sales, which was in progression to Design Cabinet Works, a cabinet making business Tony and Carmel had for 13 years. It is the frustration they encountered in the cabinet making business, in dealing with large machinery merchants and the poor service provided by established suppliers of consumables that, prompted the formation of For Wood Tools and Machinery Sales. During the 23 years of service to the Cabinet making industry, it was natural for us to attract clients from other trades in the building industry. The demand for machinery, tools and consumable for other related trades in the building industry forced us to, add on new lines and also look for innovative products that would offer better productivity and cost saving features. BEYOND TOOLS is the natural extension of this expansion and better reflects the direction we are heading for, in the future.
PRODUCT RANGE
Traditionally we have imported our large machines such as panel saws, thicknessers and Edge Bander’s from Italy (Casolin, Lazzari, Casadei), Band saws from Agazzani (Italy) and Glue applicators from Pizzi, Power feeds from Maggi Industry, Hinge mounting systems (suit Blum brand of hinges) from Unimac, all well known manufacturers in Italy.
Our relationship with Spain goes back to our inception. Virutex tools and Machinery from Valencia in Spain was part of our initial range and has grown in stature and is now recognised as a premier heavy duty, trade quality product. The niche market tools, such as the hand held Edge Bander’s, Edge Lipping Planers, Biscuit jointing machines, Curved Planer etc, etc, have become very popular over the years and are much sort after at national wood working shows. We have added several brands and a diverse range of equipment from Spain to compliment our range. The Global Vacuum Presses, Ortiguil Guillotines for picture framers, the very popular range of Cehisa Edge Bander’s which can match up against the best from Europe, are part of our growing relationship with Spanish manufacturers.
Having sourced products from traditional sources, we have ventured to countries like Turkey for the Flow through Post Formers, Nib Rollers and Milling Machines. Recently we added a line of automatic Ceiling Sanders from Greece, which won a European award for innovation. This product was tested extensively with local trade, before launching the product in commercial quantities. Conscious of the customer base that are looking for machines at a priced to suit, we have continued to develop our Chinese supplier to produce a range of cast iron built traditional machines at very attractive prices and a full range of dust extractors to suit most applications.
Having grown our large machinery business to cater to all building trades, we have not lost sight of our range of power tools and consumables. Our display of power tools would represent the best display in a single location. The variety and range of brands cover all aspects of demand by most building trades. Makita, DeWalt, Festool, Protool, Metabo, Hitachi, Bosch are also well represented and are top end tools within the Tool market. In our attempts to cater to the mechanical trade, metal working trade and other ancillary building trades, we have added the entire range of Kincrome (only store in Australia), complimented by Supatool, Crescent, Nicholson, Sontax, KC Tools, Paslode, SP Tools etc., etc the list is endless. You have to see it to believe the range of products we have on offer.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
One of the corner stone’s of our business has always been “SERVICE”. Service to customers from our experienced, trained staff to power tool and machinery “SERVICE”. Spare parts for tools and warranty service for most major brands, delivery and commissioning of machines are all part of our service department. Our new addition to our fleet of a heavy duty “Hino HIAB Truck” has extended the promptness of machinery delivery at very attractive rates for the customer. This section is located towards the back of the building and has its own service counter. We are able offer a weekly turnaround on most tools repairs and delivery of spare parts in overnight bags to most capital cities in Australia. We are aiming to make it a 48hr turnaround very shortly. We have sales representatives calling on over 80% of all cabinet makers in WA and this service is being expanded to cater to other trades.
We have country service calling every 6-8 weeks on customers in the South, South West up to Albany, East up to Kalgoorlie and North up to Geraldton. This service is complimented by two courier pickups every day, supplying customers with all their requirements of consumables. This alleviates the need for customers to leave their work bench, missing out on valuable production time.
“EDGING SOLUTIONS” which commenced operations three Years ago, was in response to the demand by customers for a commitment from someone in the industry to be able to provide prompt and guaranteed supply of the full range of nearly 370 unglued edging and 70 colours of the pre glued product. This business has grown over the past ten years, from modest beginning to become a significant part of our consumable daily off take. As per our motto, we have added a gluing and cutting service for our small customers, so that they have the option using all the colours of unglued tape. Small rolls at a premium, gives the customer the opportunity to reduce wastage or stock build up.
